Hello! Welcome to my personal website. I am Dr. Ken Zillig. I recently graduated from the Graduate Group in Ecology at the University of California, Davis. where I conducted my Ph.D. reserach in Dr. Nann Fangue’s Fish Physiology Lab. I am currently embarking upon a post-doctoral research position pursuing research questions arising from my dissertation.

My interests are in conservation biology, aquatic biology and physiology. My research revolves around the role of temperature (and subsequently temperature change) in driving ecological dynamics and how those processes influence species of conservation concern. More on those topics can be found among the Research pages.

Outside of the lab I enjoy sci-fi (current read: Memory’s Legion), keeping exotic aquariums, fixing bikes, woodworking and watercolor painting. Whenever I get the chance I escape to the wilderness for camping, hiking and birding. My pronouns are he/him/his.
